Soon after taking responsibility for Emids' Cloud Advisory Practice in late 2024, I started considering how best to organize, improve, and promote our diverse cloud practices (e.g., cloud migration, DevSecOps, and SRE). I knew that Cloud was walking a fine line between "innovation enabler" and "commodity" status, so I wanted to be purposeful about which strategic structure made the most sense over the long term.

Then, in early May, I decided that collapsing these smaller offerings under one "modernization" umbrella made the most sense. This idea became what is known as the "Modernization as a Service" offering, or MaaS.

I believe this new "master" service offering will help our clients better understand modernization practices and position Emids to leverage cloud innovation more effectively.
